Cardinal Pell Admits He Did Not Act on Sex Abuse Claim

01-Pell-600One of the highest ranking officials at the Vatican has admitted that he failed to report suspected child sex abuse to authorities. Cardinal George Pell, a top advisor to Pope Francis, made the confession while testifying to an Australian government commission on child sex abuse. Throughout his four days of testimony, Pell admitted he should have done more to protect children. But he also said that he had no knowledge in the ‘60s and ‘70s of the extent to which the church was covering up sexual abuse.
