Chlorine Gas Attacks Against Civilians Persist in Syria

09-600

In Syria, a gas believed to be chlorine was dropped in a barrel bomb on a neighborhood in Aleppo, killing four people and injuring dozens of others. The Syrian government has denied using chemical weapons during the six-year civil war, but the US and other Western powers have held the government responsible for past attacks. A hospital near Aleppo affiliated with Doctors Without Borders was bombed this past week killing 13 people, including children. Humanitarian groups have repeatedly blamed the Syrian government for strikes on medical facilities and have called for a halt.
