ISIS has claimed responsibility for last weekend’s shooting attack at a controversial exhibit near Dallas, Texas. Two gunmen were shot and killed by police after they opened fire at an event featuring caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad. The gunmen were reported to have been inspired by ISIS, but their relationship to the group, if any, is unknown. The exhibit was organized by activist Pamela Geller, who has been criticized as anti-Islamic. The Council on American Islamic Relations condemned the attack, saying “bigoted speech can never be an excuse for violence.”
