How Did Religious Groups Vote in the Midterm Elections?

voting-religion-NEWS-smAnalysts say continued strong support from white evangelicals helped propel Republican victories in this week’s mid-term elections. About 26 percent of voters self-identified as white evangelical or born-again Christians. They voted overwhelmingly for GOP candidates, which was a key factor in several Senate races, especially in the South. Smaller majorities of other Protestants and Catholics also went Republican, as did those who say they attend religious services at least once a week. Majorities of Jews, people of other religions, and those with no religious affiliation voted Democratic.
