Episcopal Churches in Court Over Buildings, Land

episcopals-fight-sm-HEADAbout fifty conservative Episcopal Churches in South Carolina are fighting in court with the national Episcopal Church over church properties valued at nearly $500 million. The churches broke off from the national church in 2012 over doctrinal issues, including the ordination of gays. Now they are fighting to keep the land and buildings they occupied before, some of which date back to before the Revolutionary War.
