More than 100 Religious and Immigration Activists Arrested at White House

immigration-arrests-mccullough-HEAD-smU.S. faith leaders and immigrant activists participated in civil disobedience in front of the White House to call for an end to deportations. More than a hundred leaders were arrested as they expressed their support for the tens of thousands of migrants from Central America, most of them children, who have surged into the U.S. across the Texas-Mexico border in recent months. The U.S. has sought to expedite the process of deporting them to their home countries. Protesters urged Obama to expand aid to migrants and to protect children from being deported.
