First Muslim Mayor of London Rejects Trump’s “Exception” to Muslim Ban

07-600This week Donald Trump got into a public dispute with the new mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, who is a Muslim. Khan was sworn in last weekend as London’s first Muslim mayor. Trump has called for a temporary ban on foreign Muslims entering the US. He was asked if Khan would be included. Trump answered that there would always be “exceptions” to his policy. In response, Khan said the issue is larger than just him. He said, “Donald Trump’s ignorant view of Islam could make both our countries less safe.”
