Prayers and Vigils Held for Victims of German Plane Crash

There was mourning and shock around the world this week after the German plane crash in the French Alps that was apparently caused by the copilot. It left no survivors. One hundred-and-fifty people were on board, including three Americans. Special prayers and vigils were held on behalf of the victims and their families. Pope Francis expressed his sympathies in a message to the families and prayed for their “strength and consolation.”
