In Washington, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton spoke at Foundry United Methodist Church to mark the church’s 200th anniversary. The Clinton family attended Foundry during Bill Clinton’s presidency. Hillary Clinton said she was a Methodist “by birth and by choice.” She spoke of the faith she learned from her mother, who often quoted John Wesley, a founder of Methodism: “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”
