Vatican Arrests Former Archbishop on Child Sex Abuse Charges

Vatican-arrest-NEWS-smThe Vatican announced this week that it has placed under house arrest a former archbishop accused of sex crimes against children. Sixty-six-year-old Jozef Wesolowski was defrocked in June for sexually abusing boys in the Dominican Republic while serving there as a papal envoy. He will be tried at the Vatican, the first time it has ever held a criminal trial for child sex abuse. Wesolowski faces up to 12 years in prison if convicted.
