The group Human Rights Watch said Israel unlawfully attacked three U.N.-run schools in Gaza and killed Palestinian civilians. The U.N. Human Rights Council is also looking into whether war crimes were committed. Israel’s military said it would conduct its own investigation.

Meanwhile, a delegation of eighteen U.S. Catholic bishops is currently on a Holy Land pilgrimage praying for lasting peace.
