Leader of Episcopal Church Addresses National Press Club

02-Curry-600Bishop Michael Curry, the first African-American presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church, addressed the National Press Club in Washington this week (February 8). He said the church will not change its positions on gay issues, even though it was sanctioned by the wider Anglican Communion for allowing clergy to perform same-sex marriages:

Bishop Michael Curry: “We, as the Episcopal Church—we are certainly committed to the Anglican Communion. We are equally committed to being a church that is a house of prayer for all people.”
