Sudanese Christian Woman Welcomed to US by Religious Conservatives

Meriam-NEWS-smMeriam Ibrahim, the woman sentenced to death in Sudan for refusing to renounce her Christian faith, made her first major public appearance since she was released and moved to the US in August. Ibrahim was given a hero’s welcome by religious conservatives at the Values Voter Summit in Washington.

Meriam Ibrahim: “I am not a criminal.”

Ibrahim thanked people who advocated for her. She pledged to help other victims of religious persecution, including American pastor Saeed Abedini, who has been held in an Iranian prison for two years.
