Faith Groups Concerned Over Migrant Influx, White House Responds

churches-immigrants-sm-HEADFaith groups raise concerns about the plight of migrants from Central America making the dangerous journey into the U.S. across the Texas/Mexico border. Authorities say more than 52,000 unaccompanied children have been apprehended at the border since October. Some groups, including the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, pledged to welcome the migrants and called on lawmakers to pass immigration reform.  President Obama urged Congress to provide nearly 4 billion dollars to contain the influx. The White House has said that most of the migrant children will not be allowed to stay in the country.
