Mississippi Governor Signs Law Allowing Guns in Churches

03-600Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant has signed into law what’s called the Church Protection Act. The legislation allows places of worship to designate certain members to carry guns into church buildings and gives them legal protections. It also allows people to carry holstered weapons without a permit. The legislation was a response to last year’s massacre at a historic African-American church in Charleston, South Carolina that left nine people dead.
