Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in Washington this past week for discussions about the stalled Middle East peace process and the relationship between the US and Israel. At the White House, Netanyahu said he has not given up hope for peace. He also appeared before thousands at the Jewish Federations of North America General Assembly. He urged US Jews to put aside their divisions over the Iran deal and unite in strong support for Israel. Netanyahu also told the group his government would work harder to ensure that the Reform and Conservative branches of Judaism have more religious influence inside Israel. Currently the Orthodox dominate religious life there.
