Hindus have two popular holidays celebrating the triumph of good over evil. First is the nine-day festival of Navaratri, which honors God in the form of universal mother, often known as Durga. Then Monday (October 14) is Dussehra, which marks the story of Lord Rama’s killing of an evil demon.

And Muslims are observing the hajj, which culminates with the three-day festival of Eid Al-Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice (October 15). It recalls Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God.
