On Our Calendar

Calendar_HEAD_smallSaturday (March 1) is the Tibetan New Year. On Sunday (March 2), Baha’is begin their Nineteen-Day Fast, when they abstain from food and water from sunrise to sunset. And Eastern and Western Christians begin the observance of Lent. In the Eastern tradition, Great Lent begins with Clean Monday (March 3). For Western Christians, Lent begins on Wednesday (March 5), Ash Wednesday, when they traditionally receive a mark of ashes as a symbol of penitence and a reminder of human mortality.
