Coptic, Armenian, and some Eastern Orthodox churches are celebrating Christmas this weekend (January 7). Other Christians are celebrating the Feast of the Epiphany (January 6), which marks the manifestation or revelation of Jesus. In Western churches, the holiday tends to focus on the visit of the Magi to the baby Jesus. But in Eastern Orthodox churches Epiphany, or Theophany as it is also called, focuses on Jesus’ baptism.
