Poll: Positive Impact of Pope Francis on Views of the Church, Especially Among Democrats and Liberals

A new poll from the Pew Research Center says Francis’ first US visit generated more positive feelings about the Catholic Church. Twenty-eight percent of Americans reported having a better opinion of the church since the visit. Six percent said they now hold a more negative view. Democrats and liberals were especially likely to say Francis’ trip had a positive impact.
