Pope to Visit Middle East

The Vatican confirmed this week that Pope Francis will travel to the Middle East in late May. He plans to visit Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Amman in Jordan. His objective is to improve relations between Roman Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox, and with Islam—and, of course, encouraging Israel and its neighbors to make peace. Also, taking aim at priests paying too much attention to advancing their careers, Francis has ordered that no more priests under 65 will receive the title Monsignor.
