Pope Francis is back in Rome after his trip to the Middle East this past week. He urged people around the world to join him in continued prayers for peace. Francis said he wanted his Holy Land pilgrimage to bring hope. He said he received much hope in return. Francis also made news on his way home. In a wide-ranging press conference aboard the papal plane, Francis announced he would soon meet with victims of clergy sexual abuse. He said he wanted a “zero-tolerance” policy on abuse and revealed that the Vatican is investigating several bishops on abuse-related charges. Francis also raised eyebrows with comments about celibacy for priests, saying “the door is always open” on that issue.
