Pope Appeals for Peace in Ukraine and Christian Unity

As violence escalated again between Ukraine and Russian-backed separatists, religious groups around the world renewed calls for peace. At the Vatican, Pope Francis offered prayers about the situation and urged that dialogue be resumed. Also this week, the Vatican held a special service to celebrate the conversion of St. Paul to what later became Christianity. Orthodox and Anglican leaders were among the participants. Francis urged Christians of all denominations to focus on what unites them rather than their differences.
