Massive preparations are underway for the pope’s visit to the US, in just over two weeks. On the 22nd, a Tuesday, he arrives in Washington from Cuba. The 23rd he talks with President Obama. The 24th he addresses Congress, the first pope to do that, and then flies to New York. The 25th he speaks to the UN, participates in an interfaith service at Ground Zero, visits Central Park, and says mass at Madison Square Garden. On the 26th and 27th, he’s in Philadelphia for what’s called the World Meeting of Families. He celebrates mass there for an expected one-and-a-half million people, and then heads back to Rome.
