New Calls for Gun Control Legislation Spurred by California Shooting

school-shooting-HEAD-smPrayer vigils and other somber ceremonies were held this week after the killing spree in Isla Vista, California. 22-year-old Elliot Rodger killed six University of California-Santa Barbara students and wounded 13 others before taking his own life. Police said Rodger had three semiautomatic guns and 400 rounds of ammunition in his possession when he died. In the wake of the attack, several religious groups are renewing calls for more restrictions on gun ownership.
