Religious Leaders Demonstrate for Interfaith Solidarity

Untitled-28-600Religious leaders have been speaking out against a spate of post-election incidents of hate crimes, harassment, and graffiti against minorities and some houses of worship. On Friday (November 18) in Washington, Christian and Jewish leaders joined Muslims at the Masjid Muhammad, known as the Nation’s Mosque, to demonstrate interfaith solidarity. The group called on the incoming administration to protect the religious liberty of all people and to defend Muslims against violence and discrimination.

Catherine Orsborn, Director, Shoulder to Shoulder Campaign: “We’re here to say loud and clear that people of different backgrounds stand with American Muslims against any form of bigotry and discrimination, and that we’re ready to work with our leaders, including the incoming administration, on efforts to uphold the value and dignity of all people in our nation, and to uphold our national ideals of religious freedom for all.”
