Religious Violence in Egypt Kills Coptic Christians

egypt-coptic-unrestReligious tensions remain high in Egypt after a new wave of deadly violence between Muslims and Coptic Christians. Two people were killed, and more than eighty wounded in a riot outside Cairo’s historic St. Mark’s Cathedral during funeral services for four Christians killed in an earlier clash. Coptic Pope Tawadros II blamed Egyptian leader Mohammed Morsi for not protecting the Christian minority. In particularly harsh language, he warned that Egypt is “collapsing.”
