Repairs and Renovations to Jesus’ Tomb Begin in Jerusalem

03-600In Jerusalem, renovation work has begun on the shrine that many Christians revere as Jesus’ tomb. The project will repair the ancient chamber that houses the tomb in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The repairs are the first since 1810. Roman Catholics, Greek Orthodox, and Armenians are among those contributing to the $3.3 million project, which is expected to take eight to 12 months. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is one of the most important Christian pilgrimage sites in the world.
