Report: Record Number of Migrants in “Age of Refugees”

According to a new United Nations report, a record number of migrants from the Middle East and Africa have tried to make their way to Europe in the first half of 2015. The UN counted 137,000 migrants, an 83 percent rise from last year. Many were fleeing violence, poverty and persecution. The report said Europe is experiencing “a maritime refugee crisis of historic proportions.”
