Rev. Daniel Berrigan, SJ, 1921-2016

02-600Daniel Berrigan died last week (April 30). He was a Jesuit priest, a poet and writer who vigorously opposed the Vietnam War, and all war. The Catholic peace movement he and his brother helped inspire—the demonstrations and anti-war actions—led to arrests and prison. But he never gave up his conviction that following the Gospel requires trying to make peace. Father Berrigan was 94 years old.
