A high-profile death row prisoner in Oklahoma received a last-minute reprieve on Wednesday (September 30). Governor Mary Fallin issued a stay of execution for Richard Glossip after there was confusion about the lethal drugs that would be used. A new execution date has been set for November 6th. Glossip was convicted of hiring someone to murder his boss, but he maintains his innocence. Many people of faith have taken up his cause, including Pope Francis, who, through a representative, asked Governor Fallin to commute Glossip’s death sentence.
