In the U.S., jubilant same-sex couples rushed to marry in Virginia after the Supreme Court cleared the way for gay marriage there and in four other states, including Utah. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Mormon Church, which has a history of battling gay marriage in Utah, said in a statement “the courts have spoken.”
