Sectarian Violence Intensifies in Iraq

iraq-violenceIn Iraq, growing concerns over the steep escalation of sectarian violence: More than 100 people died this week in a series of back-and-forth bombings in Sunni and Shiite neighborhoods. Several mosques have also been destroyed. According to the UN, at least five hundred people were killed in May. In April, 700 were killed, making that the deadliest month since 2008.
