Faith-based relief groups are continuing efforts in the Philippines to help victims of Typhoon Haiyan. Over 5,000 people are believed to be dead, and an estimated four million were displaced. Religious organizations have been among those delivering food, water, and emergency supplies as well as working to establish interim shelters. But many are finding it difficult to raise money for their work. A new survey from the Pew Research Center found the Philippines crisis is drawing less attention and fewer donations from the American public than several other international disasters in recent years, including the Haiti earthquake in 2010 and the Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004.
