In Jerusalem, thousands joined in mourning for the four men who were brutally killed by two Palestinian attackers at a synagogue. Three of the victims had dual Israeli-U.S. citizenship, among them Boston rabbi Moshe Twersky, who belonged to a distinguished line of rabbis. At the Vatican, Pope Francis condemned the killings, appealing for Israelis and Palestinians to end the violence and “make courageous decisions towards peace and reconciliation.”
