Syria: Aid Workers Kidnapped

There were more high-profile kidnappings in Syria this week. Gunmen stopped a humanitarian convoy and kidnapped seven Red Cross aid workers in northern Syria. At least three were later released. Meanwhile, there were new signs of hope for other prominent hostages. Syrian opposition sources said they’ve gotten word that Catholic priest Father Paolo Dall’Oglio is alive and being treated well by his al-Qaeda-linked captors. The peace advocate was taken captive in July. And new reports say two Orthodox archbishops abducted in April may still be alive. New negotiations were opened for their release.
