This week marked the fifth anniversary of the Syrian conflict which has killed more than a quarter of a million people and displaced half of the country’s pre-war population. As a new round of peace talks got underway, humanitarian leaders urged more attention to the toll the war is taking on civilians. In the US, a broad coalition of Christian groups is sponsoring a “Pray for Refugees” campaign. The coalition said especially in the season leading up to Easter, Christians have an obligation to remember the suffering of others.
