UN Agency Suspends Food Aid to Syrian Refugees

WFP-Marco-Frattini-Syria-NEWS-smThe UN’s World Food Program (WFP) this week was forced to suspend food aid for 1.7 million Syrian refugees. The agency said it had to take that action because international donors had failed to meet their funding commitments. WFP has provided Syrian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq, and Egypt with electronic vouchers to buy desperately needed food. Officials say many hungry families have no other source of assistance.
