Tough California Vaccination Bill Signed into Law

California adopted one of the toughest mandatory vaccination laws in the country this week. Governor Jerry Brown signed the measure, which no longer allows exemptions for personal beliefs, including religious objections. Mississippi and West Virginia are the only other states to ban such exemptions. California health officials have blamed a rising tide of anti-vaccine sentiment for the return of preventable diseases. Last year a measles outbreak at Disneyland caused 150 people to be infected.
