US Reaches Goal of Admitting 10,000 Syrian RefugeesThis week the United States met its goal of admitting 10,000 Syrian refugees this fiscal year, one month ahead of schedule. The refugees have been placed in 231 towns and cities. San Diego, California has taken in more refugees since 2012 than any other city in the US. Refugees receive help finding work and housing but are expected to become self-sufficient within a year. The government says it will admit at least 85,000 refugees in total this year.
