The schedule suggests Francis will prioritize spending time with poor people and immigrants, in addition to his planned visits to the White House, Congress, and the UN. His stops include a Catholic food ministry in Washington, D.C. and a prison in Philadelphia. In Philadelphia, he will also attend the church’s World Meeting of Families and host a gathering on religious liberty. Francis will be in the U.S. from September 22 through the 27.
