Vigil for Officers Killed in Baton Rouge

05-600In Baton Rouge, on Monday evening, mourners gathered to hold a candlelight vigil for one of three police officers killed by an Iraq war veteran earlier this month. Three other officers were wounded in the shooting. The ambush rocked a city still shaken by protests over the fatal police shooting of Alton Sterling, a 37-year-old black man who had been confronted by officers while selling CDs outside a convenience store.
