Religious leaders in the Central African Republic issued new calls for an end to the widespread sectarian violence plaguing that country. Two leading religious figures from the nation’s capital of Bangui, an archbishop and an imam, have been traveling the country together, pleading for Christians and Muslims to cease the retaliatory killings that have displaced nearly a million people. The U.N. and other groups have warned that the conflict has caused a serious food crisis that could get much worse.
