White House Celebrates Gospel Music Tradition

At the White House this week, a celebration of Gospel music: The Obamas hosted many prominent musicians for a special concert. The president praised the role of Gospel music in America:

President Obama: “Gospel music has evolved over time, but its heart stays true. It still has an unmatched power to strike the deepest chord in all of us, touching people of all faiths and of no faith.”

The full concert, called “In Performance at the White House,” will air on PBS June 26th.
