A reburial ceremony for England’s King Richard III took place at Leicester Cathedral, led by Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, on Sunday, March 22, more than 500 years after his death at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485. The dean of Leicester David Monteith explained that it was not a funeral but a reinterment, because Richard III did have a funeral in 1485. The Telegraph reported on the reburial as it happened.

3. Rare First Edition of ‘The Map that Changed the World’ Unearthed
Geological Society archivists have uncovered a rare, early copy of the Geological Map of England and Wales, published by William Smith in 1815. Though not the world’s first geological map, Smith’s was the first geological map covering such a large area. Read more at Past Horizons.

4. Ice Age People Hunted Horse and Camel
Bones of a prehistoric horse found in Wally’s Beach, located about 80 miles south of Calgary in Canada, point to evidence that humans migrated to North America earlier than previously thought. Read more at Phys.org.
