Kim Cattrall is featured in Shakespeare Uncovered: Anthony & Cleopatra with Kim Cattrall, which airs Friday, February 13 at 9PM EST (check local listings).

Kim Cattrall has had an extensive acting career that spans film, stage and television. The British born actress was recently seen on the West End in the Tennessee Williams play Sweet Bird of Youth at the Old Vic for director Marianne Elliot. The play opened to great reviews and sold out shows throughout the summer. She was also seen in Liverpool at the Everyman Playhouse and at prestigious Chichester Festival Theatre in Anthony and Cleopatra for director Janet Suzman. She also starred in the West End’s Vaudeville Theater and on Broadway starring in Private Lives directed by Sir Richard Eyre. The Noel Coward comic masterpiece centers on former spouses who have been divorced from each other for five years. She was nominated for a Drama League Awards award for her “Distinguished Performance” for her role in the Broadway production.

Cattrall makes her return to television this summer in the Canadian series Sensitive Skin which she stars in and executive produces. Sensitive Skin is the story of a woman of a certain age (Kim Cattrall) and her longtime Husband (Don McKellar) who have sold their family home and moved downtown to a hip condo in a transitional neighborhood in a conscious effort to change their lives, to keep relevant, to begin again. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happens.

In February 2011 she was be seen in the mini-series ANY HUMAN HEART which aired on PBS. The mini-series is based on the William Boyd’s novel; it also stars Jim Broadbent, Matthew Macfadyen and Sam Claflin. In April 2010, she was seen in the Anchor Bay film Meet Monica Velour which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Written and directed by Keith Bearden, the film tells the story of ‘Tobe’ who sets off on a journey to track down his favorite adult star from the ‘70s, ‘Monica Velour’ (Cattrall.) Upon meeting her he is confronted with a case of harsh reality.

Cattrall was seen in Roman Polanski’s, The Ghost Writer starring opposite Pierce Brosnan and Ewan McGregor. The film centers on a ghost-writer who has landed a lucrative contract to redact the memoirs of Adam Lang, the former UK Prime Minister, who has retired with his wife to the US. He unfolds a scandal with international ramifications that reveals how far he was ready to go in order to nurture UK’s “special relationship” with the US. Cattrall plays ‘Amelia Bly’ the trustworthy and very loyal person assistant to the Prime Minster. The film won the Silver Bear at the 2010 Berlin International Film Festival.

In the summer of 2010, she was seen in the much anticipated sequel Sex and the City 2, in which she reprises her award-winning role as the infamous ‘Samantha Jones.’ The movie is based on the critically acclaimed HBO series. Cattrall was recognized for her work in the series with a Golden Globe; 2 Screen Actors Guild Awards; 5 Emmy Award nominations and 3 Screen Actors’ Guild nominations.

An acclaimed writer, Cattrall has also written several books, including Sexual Intelligence which was a National Best Seller, Being a Girl: Navigating the Ups and Downs of Teenage Life; and Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm, a New York Times best seller.

In addition to her stage, screen and writing credits, Cattrall is the founder of Fertile Ground Productions, a Canadian-based production company. Their first project was Sexual Intelligence, a feature-length HBO documentary based on her book of the same name for which she was nominated for a Gemini as Best Host or Interviewer in a General/Human Interest or Talk Program or Series.

In 2009 Cattrall was inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame and in 2011 she was honored by GLAAD with the prestigious Golden Gate awards for her support of the organization.
