The region is comprised of 20 countries. Below are the three measurable goals of the Education for All initiative and the countries that have met them:

Universal Primary Education: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Poland.

Adult Literacy: Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Slovenia, and Ukraine.

Gender Parity: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Rep., Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Slovakia, and the former Yugoslav Rep. of Macedonia.
