The region is comprised of nine countries. Below are the three measurable goals of the Education for All initiative and the countries that have met them:

Universal Primary Education: Maldives.

Adult Literacy: Maldives.

Gender Parity: Maldives.

Only the Maldives has already achieved all three goals, while India, Nepal, and Pakistan are at risk of not reaching any of them by 2015.
