\nOneWorld’s PERSPECTIVES Magazine examines the status of education worldwide, analyzing the challenges while highlighting some of the most promising and innovative initiatives.<\/p>\n

United Nations Girls’ Education Initiative (UNGEI)<\/a><\/strong>
\nLaunched at the 2000 World Education Forum in Dakar, UNGEI is a partnership working globally to narrow the gender gap in education. Its Web site includes links to its recent publications.<\/p>\n

United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)<\/a><\/strong>
\nUNESCO’s Web site includes information about its educational initiatives as well as the six Education for All goals.<\/p>\n

UNICEF Education Publications<\/a><\/strong>
\nA listing of all recent UNICEF reports and publications regarding global education issues.<\/p>\n

Education for All Fast Track Initiative (FTI)<\/a><\/strong>
\nA global partnership between donor and developing countries created by the World Bank, FTI works to coordinate the dispersement of educational aid money.<\/p>\n

Global Campaign for Education<\/a><\/strong>
\nThe Global Campaign for Education promotes education as a basic human right, and mobilizes public pressure on governments and the international community to provide free, compulsory public basic education for all people.<\/p>\n

Center for Global Development (CGD)<\/a><\/strong>
\nCGD is an independent, non-profit think tank working to reduce global poverty and inequality. In cooperatin with the World Bank, CGD released the paper “A Millennium Learning Goal: Measuring Real Progress in Education” in August 2006.<\/p>\n

Pratham<\/a><\/strong>
\nPratham is an educational NGO based in Mumbai, India.<\/p>\n

Educational Resource Unit — India<\/a><\/strong>
\nThe Educational Resource Unit of India, a consulting group, has numerous papers from its research studies and evaluations available for download on its site.<\/p>\n

Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE)<\/a><\/strong>
\nAn NGO based in Nairobi, Kenya, FAWE seeks to ensure that girls have access to school, complete their studies, and perform well at all levels.<\/p>\n

American Academy of Arts and Sciences: Project on Universal Basic and Secondary Education (UBASE)<\/a><\/strong>
