Its Web site includes links to its recent publications.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/portal.unesco.org\/education\" target=\"_blank\">United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nUNESCO&#8217;s Web site includes information about its educational initiatives as well as the six Education for All goals.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unicef.org\/publications\/index_pubs_education.html\" target=\"_blank\">UNICEF Education Publications<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nA listing of all recent UNICEF reports and publications regarding global education issues.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fasttrackinitiative.org\/education\/efafti\/overview.asp\" target=\"_blank\">Education for All Fast Track Initiative (FTI)<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nA global partnership between donor and developing countries created by the World Bank, FTI works to coordinate the dispersement of educational aid money.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.campaignforeducation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Global Campaign for Education<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nThe Global Campaign for Education promotes education as a basic human right, and mobilizes public pressure on governments and the international community to provide free, compulsory public basic education for all people.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cgdev.org\/content\/publications\/detail\/9815\" target=\"_blank\">Center for Global Development (CGD)<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nCGD is an independent, non-profit think tank working to reduce global poverty and inequality. In cooperatin with the World Bank, CGD released the paper &#8220;A Millennium Learning Goal: Measuring Real Progress in Education&#8221; in August 2006.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pratham.org\" target=\"_blank\">Pratham<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nPratham is an educational NGO based in Mumbai, India.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eruindia.org\" target=\"_blank\">Educational Resource Unit &#8212; India<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nThe Educational Resource Unit of India, a consulting group, has numerous papers from its research studies and evaluations available for download on its site.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fawe.org\/content\/aboutfawe.html\" target=\"_blank\">Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE)<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nAn NGO based in Nairobi, Kenya, FAWE seeks to ensure that girls have access to school, complete their studies, and perform well at all levels.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amacad.org\/projects\\ubase.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">American Academy of Arts and Sciences: Project on Universal Basic and Secondary Education (UBASE)<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nThe American Academy of Arts and Sciences is an independent policy research center. UBASE, a special project to study universal education, is headed by David Bloom and Joel Cohen. Below are links to three papers written or co-written by Bloom and Cohen for the project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Education for All: An Unfinished Revolution<\/strong>&#8221; by Joel Cohen and David Bloom<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Cultivating Minds<\/strong>&#8221; by Joel Cohen and David Bloom<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Measuring Global Education Progress<\/strong>&#8221; by David Bloom<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.adeanet.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA)<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nThe ADEA was established in 1988 at the initiative of the World Bank; it works to develop partnerships between Ministers of Education and funding agencies in order to promote effective education policies.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/hrw.org\/reports\/2005\/africa1005\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Letting Them Fail: Government Neglect and the Right to Education for Children Affected by AIDS&#8221;<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nA publication by Human Rights Watch which examines the impact of educational policies in Kenya, Uganda, South Africa on children orphaned or otherwise affected by HIV\/AIDS.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.savethechildren.org\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Last in Line, Last in School, How donors are failing children in conflict-affected fragile states.&#8221;<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nA report by Save the Children examining how children in areas of war and conflict get little help for education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OneWorld PERSPECTIVES Magazine: Learning the Future OneWorld&#8217;s PERSPECTIVES Magazine examines the status of education worldwide, analyzing the challenges while highlighting some of the most promising and innovative initiatives.
