Luz Dary Acevedo received her degree in veterinary medicine from Colombia’s Universidad del Tolima. Since then, she has worked primarily in Colombia’s protected areas to study diseases and reduce threats in different species and landscapes, including in Indigenous and Afro-descendant communities. Since joining the WCS Colombia Program, she has coordinated its Wildlife Health Program and led initiatives to reduce wildlife trafficking.
